Mr. Usifer is a Connecticut State Licensed Hearing Instrument Specialist. He has been dispensing hearing aids since he got his Master’s degree in Audiology from the University of Connecticut in 1988. Rick has played an important role in the hearing aid industry in Connecticut. He has served several terms as president of the Connecticut Hearing Aid Dispenser’s Organization since 1997. During that time, Rick helped pass two important changes to the State hearing aid dispensing law, increasing consumer protection and widening the scope of practice for Hearing Instrument Specialists.

Rick’s wife of 22 years, Raisa Usifer, works as a pediatric audiologist for the Capitol Region Education Council. They have a son, Sam, who is studying at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. The Usifers also have a dog named Rusty.
